Richard joined Saffery in 2015 and advises individuals and their families on their tax affairs.
Richard values the perspectives of fellow professional advisers, so that the combined professional team may provide holistic advice in relation to each client’s wealth, financial and personal goals.
Richard specialises in residence, domicile and the remittance basis of taxation as well as succession, estate planning and inheritance tax matters. Property investment and development matters are another core area of focus.
Richard is also a regular commentator in the press on pertinent tax developments and is a contributor to the firm’s publications.

- Advising non-UK domiciled individuals and the remittance basis of taxation,
- Advising on the Statutory Residence Test and arriving in the UK/departing from the UK,
- Advising on the use of a family investment company to meet a family’s tax and estate planning objectives,
- Assisting clients facing complex tax enquiries and dealing with tax disclosures to HMRC,
- Providing advice on the taxation of carried interest and the disguised investment management fee rules for private equity executives,
- Advising on land pooling and associated property development tax issues.
