Jay Stroud

Jay works closely with owner-managed businesses, private equity backed businesses, international groups and professional practices.

Jay advises partnerships and companies on their financial affairs. He has experience in working across a wide range of sectors, including professional practices, real estate, natural capital, manufacturing & distribution, education, sports streaming and FCA regulated entities.

Jay provides a personalised service to clients by helping them with both their audit, accounting & SRA Accounts Rules needs, with a view to truly understand their business. He seeks to add value through effective communication to management and building confidence with those charged with governance, shareholders and stakeholders.

Jay also possesses a strong dedication to client satisfaction achieved through providing exceptional client service.

Jay is member of both our Professional Practices & Financial Services, and Real Estate, National Practice Groups. He is also a member of our Project SWIFT team, a national initiative focused on enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our audit processes, here at Saffery.


Key experience

  • Providing value-added statutory audits with reports to management on risk management, key controls and financial benchmarking,
  • Providing technical FRS102 support for UK companies on a number of accountancy issues including advising on share option schemes,
  • Leading audits of international groups with gross assets of up to c. £1b,
  • Assisting clients with forecasting activities, by modelling business growth, to identify working capital requirements,
  • Leading the advice for clients in respect of UK Corporate Tax & VAT implications of overseas subsidiaries that have permanent establishments in the UK,
  • Leading the advice for clients as to the tax implications of different financing methods,
  • Facilitating tax planning advice, with a view to practical implementation of strategies and ensuring they take into account all of their personal circumstances,
  • Facilitating advice for LLPs on the tax implications of their arrangements, in particular with respect to new legislation,
  • Supporting clients with CT61 reporting requirements.

Interests

Jay enjoys cycling and mountaineering, as well as taking part in endurance events, such as the Keswick Mountain Festival and the Cyclotour du Léman.
