Gareth is Head of the Peterborough office. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (FCA) and is an RI (responsible individual) for audit clients in the Peterborough office. He joined Saffery as a partner in 2023.
Gareth’s experience spans owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses across a wide range of industries and sectors, including farming, food & beverage, and construction & real estate. His clients also include not-for-profit organisations, from national charities to membership organisations, independent schools and academy trusts.
Key experience
- Almost 20 years’ experience supporting clients in both commercial and not-for-profit organisations with statutory audit and financial reporting,
- Supporting with group reconstructions and associated financial reporting,
- Developing his firm’s not-for-profit strategy as a member of the national not-for-profit leadership team and representing his firm on sector technical committees,
- Working alongside the National Audit Office on statutory audits of regulators and national charities,
- Developing and presenting training and seminars for finance directors and business leaders.
Interests
Gareth is a keen walker and has previously completed a 52-mile walking challenge in under 24 hours, to raise money for charity. Gareth is also active in his local community, being chair and treasurer of his local amateur dramatics group and treasurer of his village community choir.
Gareth is a fluent French speaker, having a first degree in French and mathematics. He enjoys regular trips to France and is passionate about French culture. He also loves classic cars, and is a proud owner of a 1966 Morris Minor.
