Putting people first with Guernsey Mind partnership

Saffery Trust Guernsey has announced its Workplace Partnership with Guernsey Mind as part of its ongoing efforts to promote good mental health and well-being.

By signing up to the Workplace Partnership, the award-winning firm has committed to measurable actions to strengthen its support and inclusive internal culture.

The partnership marks another milestone in the firm’s efforts, which have included training 10 team members as Mental Health First Aid Champions to offer peer support alongside its two fully qualified Mental Health First Aiders. Other initiatives include weekly visits from Wellbeing Animals Guernsey, monthly well-being walks, and quarterly “Fika Fridays,” encouraging team members to socialise in the office. The firm also offers a variety of external sports and social activities, as well as “Lunch’n’Learn” sessions covering a wide range of mental and physical health topics.

Alongside its well-being initiatives, Saffery Trust offers a flexible working policy, without the restriction of core office hours, as well as remote working capabilities for all team members.

Saffery Trust People & Culture Associate Director, Sharon Coburn, said the partnership represented the firm’s commitment to its people.

“At Saffery Trust we know that our people are our most valuable assets. We prioritise staff health and well-being across four key pillars: mental/emotional, physical, social, and financial. Good mental health means something different to everyone, so we offer a broad range of initiatives to encourage engagement at every level,” she said.

“Our partnership with Guernsey Mind reinforces our commitment to destigmatising mental health and empowering our team to prioritise their well-being, with our full support. Our people are dedicated to Saffery Trust and to providing exceptional client service, and we are equally dedicated to supporting them in every way we can.”

Guernsey Mind Training Lead, Lisa Ingrouille, said:

“Guernsey Mind is delighted to welcome Saffery Trust to the Workplace Partnership. We have been impressed by their desire to commit whole heartedly to asking how their staff feel on a whole host of topics and using this data to improve their staff’s well-being. We are thrilled to have them onboard and excited to start looking at how we can support them on their journey.”
