Saffery Rotary Walk set to benefit 21 Guernsey charities

The Saffery Rotary Walk Committee has announced the 21 Guernsey-registered charities set to benefit from this year’s round-island walk.

Applications were granted for charitable projects with a measurable positive impact for the community. The chosen charities represent a variety of sectors across the island including social care, sport, healthcare, arts, and leisure.

The Walk is one of the island’s largest annual fundraisers and sees participants undertake a 39-mile walk around Guernsey’s scenic coastline, or complete segments of the Walk as part of a relay team. As main sponsor of the Walk, Saffery Trust covers all operational and marketing costs, ensuring that all sponsorship funds raised by walkers go directly to the charities.

The 2024 beneficiary charities are:

This year will mark the 26th Walk, with over £1m raised for local charitable causes since its inception.

Saffery Trust Director, Lisa Vizia, leads the private client firm’s involvement in the Saffery Rotary Walk and holds a seat on the Walk Committee.

“Supporting the island’s charitable sector, and the essential services it provides to the community, is hugely important to Saffery Trust. We have several fundraising activities throughout the year in each of our jurisdictions, of which the Saffery Rotary Walk is our flagship event.

“Alongside financial support, our team members also volunteer their time putting together sponsorship packs for walkers, helping at the finish line on the day, or taking part in the walk itself. It’s a fantastic event which sees our community – and participants from further afield – come together to support incredibly worthwhile causes, which we are proud to support.”
