Saffery partners recognised in Spear’s 500
Five of our Saffery partners have been listed in the prestigious Spear’s 500 2023 Index in two categories: Accountants and Tax Advisers and Tax Lawyers.
Launched in 2014, the Spear’s 500 is Europe’s most respected ranking of the best accountants and tax advisers for high-net-worth individuals. With rankings based on client and peer testimonials, firm-supplied data, editorial research, and face-to-face interviews, the index is a renowned indispensable resource, found in the private offices and homes of the wealthiest individuals and families.
In the index, Spear’s ranks three core tiers of advisers: Top Flight (the top 10), Top Recommended, and Recommended.
For the seventh year in a row, James Hender (Partner and Head of the Private Wealth and Estates Group, London) is awarded a Top Flight ranking. With particular expertise in advising first-generation wealthy individuals, James works collaboratively with lawyers and investment professionals to help our clients achieve their ambitions. He commented:

James Sykes (Partner and Chairman, London) has received the Top Recommended award in the Accountants & Tax Advisers category. Saffery Chairman since 2016, James advises wealthy private clients, including families with landed estates and growing commercial enterprises, and also acts as a trustee for many of the families he advises.
James Stevens (Partner, Peterborough) has been awarded a Recommended 2023 in Tax Lawyers category. James is a private client specialist with particular focus on providing capital tax and trust, strategy, and wealth preservation advice. He is acting for high-net worth individuals and families, family-owned businesses and landed estates.
Margi Campbell (Partner, Inverness) has been recognised in the index for a third year in a row in the Recommended category. On the honour of being listed, Margi credits the “huge and dedicated contribution of the Inverness office team.” Margi provides advice and tax planning to a number of wealthy entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, professional partnerships, family businesses and landed estate clients.
Robert Mace (Partner, London) has received a Recommended 2023 in Tax Lawyers category. Robert joined Saffery in 2004 and advices private clients and their businesses. His core client base are international high net worth individuals and their families. He specialises in advising non-domiciled individuals, family offices and trustees.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to our colleagues at Saffery Trust who were also listed in the Spear’s 500 Index in Trust, Structuring and Offshore category. Helen Green, Director in Guernsey, and Nick Batiste, Managing Director in Guernsey, received Top Recommended 2023, while Dominic Lawton-Smith received Recommended 2023.
