Darren joined Saffery in July 2019 as a Semi-Senior accountant. Since joining the team Darren has completed the ACCA qualification and became a Senior accountant in January 2021 was promoted to an Assistant Manager in October 2022.
Currently Darren works with a portfolio of clients in the film and TV industry, where he provides a wide range of taxation and accountancy services. He is also highly skilled in the areas of VAT and Payroll compliance and maintains records of our clients Company secretarial filings.
Prior to joining Saffery, Darren worked with Allied Irish Bank PLC where he was responsible for managing a diverse client portfolio, primarily in the arrears department. Darren played an active role in the team and was responsible for identifying, reviewing and rectifying mortgage accounts under the scope of the Central Bank of Ireland Tracker Mortgage programme.
Darren holds an honours degree in Business and Accounting from the National University of Ireland Maynooth. During his time with AIB, Darren became a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA). He has kept up his QFA designation with the Institute of Bankers since transitioning across to the accounting industry.
In October 2017, Darren joined the Cafico International graduate programme as a trainee accountant, where he assisted in the servicing of clients in fashion licencing, aircraft leasing, renewable energy, pharmaceutical and retail industries.
Recently Darren has taken up the role of wellbeing champion for our Dublin office and understands the importance of wellbeing in the workplace.

Interests
Darren is from Monaghan and currently lives in Donegal. He enjoys running and is passionate about football. He is family oriented and maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important to him.
