Sinead is Partner at Saffery & Head of Dublin.

Sinead has worked within the creative industry sector for over 14 years. She provides specialist taxation advice on claiming creative sector tax reliefs in the UK and Ireland and has a depth of experience in the UK & Irish Cultural Test and qualifying co-productions, as well as providing financial, auditing and accounting services.

Sinead acts for a wide range of clients, from small independent film and television production companies to major US and UK film studios and television broadcasters along with Irish Producer Companies.

Sinead is regularly invited to lecture and sit on expert panels at various industry events across the UK and Ireland.


Key experience

  • Advising film, television, and animation producers on how to access UK and Ireland creative industry tax incentives: Ireland’s Section 481 as well as the UK’s tax relief and the new Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC),
  • Advising on UK and Ireland production structuring to maximise both the UK’s tax relief and Expenditure Credit and Ireland’s s481,
  • Advising on multi-territorial production structures, financing arrangements, and considering the impact of production specific contractual arrangements,
  • Providing advice on qualifying productions as British and assisting with submission to the BFI,
  • Advising on how to qualify as a formal co-production,
  • Providing opinion letters for financiers,
  • Evaluating budgeted production expenditure for qualification of tax relief for the UK and Ireland and/or expenditure credits for the UK,
  • Assisting clients with corporate reporting, including statutory audits, accounts, and tax compliance.

Interests

Sinead is married with two daughters and a son. She is a keen swimmer and enjoys family holidays.
