Will is a member of the Private Wealth and Estates Group, with a focus on advising families with complex tax and financial affairs.
As a trust specialist with a focus on advising settlors and beneficiaries, he also focuses on capital taxes and estate planning; estate administration and complex compliance; heritage property and family office advice.
Will has over 19 years’ experience in working in the private client industry. Prior to joining Saffery, he worked at a central London Law firm, where he was ultimately running their trust department.
Will is qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Trust and Estate Practitioner, and is also a member of the ATT. He is an active member of the firm’s Trust Forum, and Land & Rural Group. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Key experience
- Providing Saffery’s family office service for families with large and complex landed estates,
- Advice to landed estates on restructuring and Heritage Property matters,
- Advising trustees regarding tax planning opportunities and specialist accounts and tax compliance, including income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax reporting,
- Advising trustees in order to streamline their tax affairs and improve administrative efficiency,
- Chairing trustees’ meetings for large groups of family trusts, involving multiple beneficiaries and generations,
- Inheritance and other estate planning for high net worth individuals,
- Advising on inheritance filings for deceased estates, together with estate accounts, tax compliance, tax planning opportunities via deeds of variation and disclaimers.
Interests
Will is married with three children. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing board games and occasionally a very poor standard of poker.
