David Humphrys

David is a Tax Director in the Tax Advisory Department of the London office. His focus is on corporate taxation and, separately, on the direct taxation of charities and not-for-profit entities.

His work in the business and corporate sector includes advising on corporate reconstructions and company sales and acquisitions, taxation due diligence and cross-border transactions and structures.

His work with charities includes tax matters relating to charities’ commercial operations and the use of trading subsidiaries and advising on Gift Aid initiatives and tax-efficient giving.

  • Advising on company share sales and acquisitions, including taxation due diligence,
  • Advising on company reorganisations, including demergers,
  • Advising on overseas corporate structures in conjunction with Nexia associates, including the acquisition of overseas subsidiaries by UK companies and UK subsidiaries by overseas companies,
  • Tax issues relating to the acquisition of commercial property, including advising on claims for capital allowances,
  • Advising charities on Gift Aid and direct tax issues relating to trading and property transactions.
