David is a partner in the firm’s Land and Rural Property Group and has a wealth of experience in providing accounting and tax advisory services to landowners, families and owner managed businesses.
He specialises in advising rural estate owners, assisting them with capital tax planning, succession, tax-efficient business structuring and general commercial advice. His work also encompasses business valuations for both tax and commercial purposes.
David is a Chartered Accountant and Trust and Estates Practitioner, and sits on the firm’s Estates Discussion Group and Agribusiness Group, as well as being a member of the Valuations Forum. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Key experience
- Advising landowners and wealthy individuals including succession planning and advising on maximise the availability of capital tax reliefs such as APR and BPR,
- Providing tax, accounting and general business advice to a range of rural, property and other commercial businesses,
- Leading the delivery of accounts and tax compliance services for family businesses, individuals and trusts,
- Providing business valuation services for tax and commercial purposes, including IHT, CGT and income tax related valuations,
- Provision of private office services and cash flow planning for wealthy families.
Interests
David has a young family which takes up much of his time outside work. His other interests include cycling, walking, music and cricket.
