Nicola is a Senior Manager in the Film and TV team.
She has experience in advising clients in all aspects of statutory reporting, financing, corporate tax compliance, and a specific expertise in accessing both the creative sector tax reliefs in the UK and the Section 481 Film and Television Tax Credit in Ireland.
Nicola works with a wide range of clients, from small independent film and television production companies to major US Hollywood studios. She is also experienced in providing services to animation studios, video game developers and commissioning and distribution companies.
Nicola joined Saffery Film and TV team in 2018 as part of a move to London, having qualified at a medium size firm in the west of Ireland.
Key experience
- Advising film, television and video games producers on how to access UK and Irish creative industry tax incentives: the UK’s tax relief and the new Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) and Video Games Expenditure Credit (VGEC), as well as Ireland’s Section 481,
- Advising on multi-territorial production structures and financing arrangements,
- Evaluating budgeted production expenditure for qualification of UK creative industry tax relief,
- Advising on BFI Cultural Test qualification and assisting with the submissions process,
- Providing opinion letters for financiers,
- Assisting clients with their corporate reporting needs, including audit, accounts preparation and tax compliance.

Outside of work, Nicola is a keen swimmer and enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time outdoors.
