Saffery has advised HW Global on its acquisition of a controlling interest in UK digital recruitment agency Zebra People.

The firm’s Manchester office provided both financial due diligence (carried out by Simon Kite), and tax services (delivered by Mike Hodges) to assist in the acquisition of Zebra People, a company that specialises in the hiring of digital product teams.

Both companies will retain their existing brands and the acquisition creates a business with a £16 million turnover, and 50 staff in London, Manchester and Leeds. It is the first of HW Global’s planned acquisitions, in a bid to help the firm provide its clients with a complete talent providing service in areas of high growth, transformation and demand.

Simon Kite, partner and head of the firm’s Recruitment Sector Team at Saffery commented:

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with HW Global on this transaction, as part of their exciting growth journey. Their plans to build an executive search and interim firm across a range of niche specialisms make them a particularly attractive recruitment partner for businesses struggling to find the necessary talent for their business. Zebra People is a great acquisition given HW Global’s strategy.”

Saffery advises recruitment, executive search and staffing companies of various sizes on their growth strategies, supporting them with mergers, acquisitions and exit strategies.
