Dorset 2023 Young Enterprise competition

After 18 years after her own experience of Young Enterprise, Hannah Mazrae, Partner at Saffery in Bournemouth, had the opportunity to be involved in the judging panel of the Dorset 2023 Young Enterprise competition.

There were ten schools across Dorset involved in this year’s Company Programme and six schools made it to the final.

The winner of Best Overall Company (sponsored by Poole Harbour Commissioners) and Best Financially Managed (sponsored by Saffery) were The Innovators from The Grange School, Christchurch, who were advised by Dianne Edgar, Freelance Writer and Performance Coach.

Hannah presented The Innovators, a group off year 10 students from The Grange School in Christchurch, with their award trophy. The Innovators went on to win the overall Company of the Year and will go on to represent Dorset in the South West and Wales Regional final on 24^th May in Bristol.

Hannah said: “It was great to reflect on my own experience and also judge the incredibly tough 2023 competition alongside Rebecca Phillips, Strategic Lead – Dorset Careers Hub at Dorset LEP, and Chris Shephard, Director – Economic Development at BCP Council. We all start somewhere and Young Enterprise is a great opportunity for students to learn key business skills, so thank you to Jo Pope for facilitating the Dorset branch.”
