Alexis is a Senior Manager in the VAT Advisory Team and advises clients on a variety of VAT issues including land and property transactions and VAT accounting processes.
She advises clients across multiple sectors, including real estate and construction, rural business and not for profits. She has worked with a variety of organisations, including SMEs, charities and large corporates to improve process efficiencies in their VAT accounting.
Alexis joined Saffery in 2021 having qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser (Indirect tax) with an independent VAT advisory firm.
Key experience
- Advising on VAT liability of residential property developments, to ensure the correct rate of VAT is applied at all stages in the supply chain,
- Undertaking risk reviews for clients, focusing on the impact to the bottom line,
- Carrying out systems reviews to ensure accounting processes meet HMRC reporting obligations. Alexis has recently led on the VAT and CIS process workstream for the implementation of D365 for a listed housebuilder.
Interests
Alexis lives in Scotland and is often found outdoors; the ratio of playground attendance to running or walking is not always in her favour. She is an avid reader and is always looking for new book recommendations.
